Char Dham Yatra – Ex Delhi, a journey designed for devoted pilgrims who wish to immerse themselves spiritually. Starting from Haridwar and concluding at Rishikesh, this itinerary includes all the important religious places like Barkot, Yamunotri, Harsil/Uttarkashi, Gangotri, Guptkashi/Sitapur Kedarnath, Badrinath and then proceeds back to Haridwar and finally to Delhi.
Start your day with a refreshing breakfast before setting off on a scenic drive to Barkot. If you wish, you can take an early morning dip in the holy Ganges before departing from Haridwar.
The journey to Barkot takes approximately 7–8 hours, with a brief stop at Kempty Falls for sightseeing. However, during peak travel seasons, heavy traffic in Mussoorie may lead us to take an alternative route via Vikas Nagar, skipping Kempty Falls if necessary. The final decision will be made based on real-time road conditions to ensure a smooth journey.
Upon arrival in Barkot, check in at your hotel, unwind, and enjoy a delicious dinner before resting for the night.
Begin your day with an early morning departure towards Janki Chatti, passing through Hanuman Chatti and Phool Chatti. Upon reaching Janki Chatti, embark on a 5 km trek to the sacred Yamunotri Dham.
At the Yamunotri Temple, take a holy dip in the Tapt Kund (Garam Kund) before offering prayers and seeking the blessings of Shri Yamunotri Mata. The temple, originally built by Maharani Gularia of Jaipur in the 19th century, has undergone restoration after being damaged twice in modern history.
After darshan and rituals, trek back to Janki Chatti, where your driver will be waiting. From there, return to Barkot for a well-deserved dinner and an overnight stay.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing for Uttarkashi, a serene town known for its religious significance. This shorter 4-hour journey allows ample time to relax and recover from the previous day’s trek.
Upon arrival, visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, a revered shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. After seeking blessings, proceed to your hotel for check-in and unwind. The remainder of the day is free for relaxation or local exploration at your own pace.
Start your day early with a packed breakfast and hot tea/coffee before heading toward Gangotri, one of the holiest sites in Hindu mythology.
Upon arrival, visit the Gangotri Temple, an 18th-century shrine dedicated to Goddess Ganga, believed to have descended to Earth here. Participate in the Ganga Aarti at the VIP Ghat, followed by rituals at Bhagirath Shila, where King Bhagirath is said to have meditated. Explore the Gauri Ganesha Temple and Surya Kund, a revered thermal spring.
On your way back, stop at Gangnani to experience the healing hot springs before returning to Uttarkashi for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, embark on a scenic journey towards Sitapur or Guptkashi, traveling along the mighty Ganges. En route, witness the Ganga Giving Way Tehri Dam, one of India’s largest hydroelectric projects and largest white water lake.
This is the longest travel day in the itinerary, taking 9–10 hours, depending on traffic. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel, relax, and prepare for the Kedarnath trek the next day.
A spiritually fulfilling yet physically demanding day as you begin the trek to Kedarnath. Start early from Sitapur and reach Gaurikund, the base point for the trek. Choose to trek on foot or opt for pony/ doli services.
For those planning a pilgrimage to Kedarnath, it is essential to consider the reliability and safety of different travel options. While helicopter shuttle services are available with advance booking, we strongly discourage relying on them due to multiple operational and logistical challenges.
Upon reaching Kedarnath, visit the Celestial Jyotirlinga Temple of Lord Shiva, a powerful spiritual center. Offer prayers and explore:
Overnight stay options:
This day is reserved as a buffer to accommodate any delays due to weather, health, or other factors. Those descending early from Kedarnath may visit the Shri Triyugi Narayan Temple, where Lord Shiva and Parvati were married (optional and chargeable).
For those returning on time, an overnight stay at Guptkashi or Sitapur is recommended for rest.
After breakfast, begin a scenic drive to Badrinath passing through Ukhimath, Chopta, Pipalkoti, and Joshimath & Govindghat. This route offers stunning Himalayan views and sacred river confluences.
Govindghat serves as the base camp for Badrinath. Staying here or at Pipalkoti helps with acclimatisation before proceeding to higher altitudes. Night Stay in Badrinath.
Start the day with a holy dip at Tapt Kund, a natural hot spring, before visiting Badrinath Temple, the sacred shrine of Lord Vishnu.
